History of Zafar Securities (Pvt.) Limitted - Pakistan Stock Exchange Broker

Zafar Securities (Pvt) Ltd (ZSL) was incorporated on 28th June, 1999, under the Companies Ordinance,1984 of Pakistan Stock Exchange.

Syed Asim Zafar, Chairman ZSL, is a Nuclear Engineer from USA and has done his Masters in Human Resource Management. He has a vast experience in running and successfully managing a brokerage house. He started as an agent in 1989 with the membership of Mrs. Tasneem Zafar and in 1992 he acquired this membership in his own name.

In 1995, Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) did away with the "Open out Cry" method of trading and adopted a computerized trading module prepared by a team of brokers lead by Mr. Asim Zafar in brokerage houses in Lahore. The software package developed also included Carry Over Trade (COT) and Negotiated Trade, which were unique and had been specifically evolved in our sub-continent.


In 1999, Zafar Securities Ltd became a corporate member of Lahore Stock Exchange Ltd (PSX). ZSL acquired the corporate membership of National Commodity Exchange Ltd, now Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Ltd (PMEX). In 2003, ZSL was the first brokerage house in Punjab to start on-line trading which gave its clients the opportunity to online trading and make their own decisions without any dependence on brokerage houses or traders. It became the first brokerage house in Pakistan to simultaneously offer its clients two trading platforms i.e. Pakistan Stock Exchange trading floor and the Lahore trading floor.

ZSL has served more than 12,000 individuals as well as institutions clients. They are spread all over the world and are trading while sitting in comfort of their environment. At present ZSL has three branches in Lahore one in Faisalabad and one in Jhang Zafar Securities Ltd deals in shares listed on the Lahore as well Karachi Stock Exchange, Pakistan Stock Exchange and all the commodity trading listed on the PMEX.
